Who am I?

I’m Dave, and I’m a wordaholic. I have 15 years and counting as a freelance professional working with words – writing, editing and proofreading for business and academia; from one-off commissions to long-term client relationships.
While I’ve worked in a wide range of sectors – from manufacturing to software development to branding & PR to writing movie subtitles – I’ve always specialised in writing about HR, learning, and organisational development. For that, I draw on a previous 15-year career in a variety of roles including internal L&D consultant, mediator, HR business partner; plus training design, delivery and management.
I channel all of that into supporting you to find the best words possible to convey the messages you need to send to the people you need to receive them.
Oh, you want something a bit more personal?
Well, I’m from the UK though I’ve lived in Barcelona since 2013. I’ve always been an avid reader (anything from science fiction to zen & taoism to ‘serious’ literature to comic books) and that’s where my love of words and the different ways they can be combined comes from. I’m 6’4” and have had my hair cut precisely twice since 1998. I occasionally write about improvised and weird music at ajazznoise.com.
Is that enough? I think so. For now…
I am not a marketing consultant, or a publisher, or a ghostwriter or AI LLM that will write your bestseller for you, but…
I will proofread, edit, and write to help you get your message across in a way your chosen audience will respond to.
Am I right for you?
If you or your business depends on high-quality written communication and are looking for responsive, expert support with a fast turnaround then yes, I am.
If this sounds like you, then great, let’s talk.
